Main Sanctuary

Used every Shabbat for religious services. The sanctuary is named Ohel Menahem, in memory of Max Arzt z”l prominent Rabbi and professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and the father of Ray Arzt. Max had been raising money for Ramot Zion when he passed away in 1975. Ray, together with family and friends continued to raise the funds necessary to finish the building, totalling over $150,000.

Beit Midrash

Klein Chapel: Used for daily shaharit services and Shabbat Ken services, it also serves as a meeting room for the Bnei Mitzvah class and lectures and is available for special events. Anne (z”l) and Irving Karp, parents of Mira Levine, raised some $40,000 from over 400 Buffalonians for the chapel in memory of Rabbi Isaac Klein z”l, beloved rabbi from Buffalo, New York. Rabbi Klein was the teacher of many of the rabbis who are members of Ramot Zion.

Library

The collection of books on subjects of Jewish theology, history, literature, religion, and Israel is located in the Klein Chapel.

Maon Zvi Lounge

Named in memory of Rabbi Harry O. H. Levine, father of Lee Levine, who raised over $80,000 to cover the cost of construction.

The family of Ted Garner, whose name graces our complex, contributed much of the last funding needed to complete construction. Alex Brill, then a Hebrew University engineer, oversaw construction according to the plans of architect Aaron Irone. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 20 Heshvan, 5738, November 1, 1977 with the dedication taking place in 1978.

Ross Hall

Used as a sanctuary for the High Holidays, and is the venue for most social activities. The Hall is also rented out for community activities or private parties. The Ross family of Riverdale, New York, members of the congregation then led by the late Rabbi Chaim Pearl, contributed funds for building the hall.

The Youth Lounge

Is named in memory of three young girls, daughters of members whose lives were tragically cut short this last year − Miriam Fassberg z”l, Einat Levi z”l, and Tova Streett z”l. The Lounge is used for the Noam youth group.

Tots Room

For nursing mothers and toddlers, was furnished by Debbie Baker in memory of her parents, Martin and Pauline Waronker z”l.
